A MINI Pumpkin has landed on my work desk:) Just in time for Martin Ritter's Halloween. The global downturn has changed my life...by far the smallest pumpkin I ever had for Halloween. Nice Orange...wouldn't use it for my bag designs though. I shall post a picture once I made the pumpkin look scary. Out of the pumpkin-flesh I will make some pumpkin soup...or shall I try some Fusion Kitchen adding exotic spices. Maybe not! Fusion-Soup is not always easy to digest.

MAD - Delay...

You were probably all wondering why I have stopped blogging for some time. Things have been insane in the MADAROZZO Bag and Case World . I drove up to Michigan straight after the trade show to meet our US-Distributor, followed by meetings with sales reps. Over 3000 Miles by car - New York to Washington to Nashville. Nashville to Michigan to Chicago, Madison, Chicago. Chicago - New York - Edinburgh by plane - 2 weeks in my life. I have made only one picture on the entire trip which I posted here.

MAD - Smart Celebration...

Finally after almost one year of absence and travels all over Europe - me and my travel companion have returned to the UK. MAD's innovative way to reduce the carbon footprint is to use our SMART car to visit clients in Europe instead of flying. When I left UK the car had just 10.000Miles....the clock just hit 26.000...and he got his well deserved B-Service on the weekend. His nickname is 'Big Z'...:)

MAD - 6 Square Meters...

Well, after having a luxury 3 x 3 meter = 12 Square Meter at the NAMM Show I thought it is time to adapt to the global outlook and reduce the size by 50% for the Musikmesse Frankfurt. I have not achieved to reduce my size (haven't lost any weight) however we had a super small 2 x 3 meter = 6 Square Meter Booth at the show. With 43 International clients having scheduled meetings (135 people in total) we probably had the highest international visitor count per Square Meter 22.5 visitors per square meter and that does not count the visitors which had no appointment and all the guitarists and musicians who admired our Hoyer Guitars.

MAD Anti Aging....

Well people, I had to have a small surgery on my foot and was unable to walk for a week so far. I am recovering quick, showing remarkable strength and had a fantastic week - just in case some people already hurray that I might not go to the Frankfurt Show. I even decided to participate in an Anti Aging program to look the best for my friends and clients at the Frankfurter Musikmesse. Practically I look like 18 again.

MADwater Basin...

As a 30-Year veteran of the music industry I decided to take two days off after the trade show. In the past I rested on long haul flights and in airline lounges which gave me loads of added health benefits, such as a complimentary collapse in the Continental Lounge in Heathrow. Since I don't work for money anymore (that's not the case!) my health has improved significantly (that is the case).

My trip brought me to Death Valley to the Badwater Basin...needless to say that I had to drive by Area 51 before going there.

Arrived at Badwater Basin I figured out this place is below sea level - kind of like the world economy. I had the idea to call this place MADwater Basin and modified the picture. Martin Ritter, the MADwater Valley Ranger. Wouldn't you like to be a MADwater Valley Ranger too?

When you read this blog entry I am on my way to Asia - relaxed and full of new ideas and positive feedback from my clients - the competition will have a hard time moving at the speed of MAD!

MAD supports Chrysler and Fiat...

Whilst Fiat and Chrysler consider to marry one way or the other and to enter in a partnership, I thought it is a good idea to support the fellows in their venture, because my MADAROZZO brand is bearing an Italian name. So I went and rented a Chrysler from AVIS online to continue my travels in the USA and to visit clients. When I picked up the car it took my breath for a split second. It was a Very Scary Blue Metallic PT Cruiser - I don't even think they sell this color in Europe?! Anyway I think it is a seksi color and makes me look younger - much younger that is.

MAD Winter Vacation in the Desert...

First of all A Happy New Year:) Sorry folks I haven't been writing since more than 14 days. After the Christmas Break I decided to get ready for the NAMM trade-show and to have a quick show appearance in the desert. Just so I can get ready for the global business climate. I am happy to report that on Thursday I will meet all my friends from the Music Industry. They all can have a look at my precious MADAROZZO collection and we can catch up on gossip, the good old times and and and...

I try to achieve some serious weight loss until the show so my friends can actually recognize me. I got some of those Green Tea supplements to loose weight - they taste gross - but I am strong - yes I can loose weight in America.

MAD - Czech'ed it out...

Recently I stayed two nights in Prague to visit one of my clients. My Bubble-Car had a bulb failure but the local dealership got all sorted - super friendly. After the meeting I had time to browse the city before leaving to my next destination.

I Czech'ed all out:
Wenceslas Square, The Charles Bridge, The Old Town, The Astronomical Clock, loads of food and the highlight was a visit at a puppet theater. Mozart's Don Giovanni was on show - super comical and very entertaining.

I have spend the weekend setting an example for field marketing in the Music Industry. In order to research the French market I though there is no better place than Paris. I booked a hotel near all the music shops in Paris. After a 12 hours drive and a ferry crossing my Bubble Car (SMART....oh yes what a fashion statement) and I arrived at the final destination. Upon approaching the hotel we were greeted by the 'Moulin Rouge'. Most of the Music Shops are located near the red light area (I was thinking of a career change here...) and loads of great restaurants. Paris was buzzing as usually and no signs that the current economic problems would claim any victims here.

Music Industry News: "Mr. Mad (Martin Ritter) the highly efficient Madarozzo executive has ended his Cast Away and is returning to Civilization."

I am leaving behind the many friends I have made during my stay at the Beach Resort - Mr. Coco and Big Nemo. We will meet again next year but now I have to rock on.

Insiders will know that I am totally unable to make holidays. I have of course thoroughly researched the Music Industry in this part of the world. It is good to see that it is a booming industry here as well. See below a fine example of a local Music Shop.

MAD - Adventures in the Jungle

Today I was sitting outside my temporary WiFi-Jungle-Office. Don't get jealous or give me the middle finger yet - I have worked really hard the last few months and the clear message is 'Relax I must'. I was at the WiFi-Swimming-Pool today 'splash splash splash' and had a brief break from the bags and cases world. The ones of you who know me in more depth know that I am a WiFi-Addict and even this remote place is totally WiFi'ed. Maybe I should join the WiFi'er Anonymous Association?

MAD - Singapore under Lozenges attack...

Just a few minutes after my arrival I got the shocking news. Singapore is under Lozenges attack from Germany! Dark clouds over Singapore, German Lozenges in 4 different flavours taking over the financial district of Singapore. Tokyo has Godzilla Monsters, New York has Cloverfield and Singapore has German Lozenges. Can't wait to see the Movie Trailer!! I can see the adverts for the DVD already: "Where were YOU when the German Lozenges hit Singapore?

Despite German Lozenges attacking Singapore the launch of MADAROZZO gig bags in Singapore went very well and our distributor over there is doing a great job.

This weekend I was crazy busy finalizing the Madarozzo keyboard bags. During my lunch break, in one of the food stalls, I had my mind fully set on Keyboards, Organs etc. - than in front of my eyes the new product group appeared. Have I spotted a niche market here, new market possibilities, a new group of instruments? 'The Bags with the Oink' could be the slogan!!!

Today I have to reveal that due to an overdose of work my loyal office companion the 'MacBook' got some structural damage. The outer shell is disintegrating.

Shocker!!!

Apple's Production Team is probably panicking right now because I might have revealed a mass production fault. Stay cool Apple-Friends I have damaged it myself during my long shifts. After a professional DIY-repair with some tape the work can continue.

The picture shows my typical office configuration: MacBook with 3M-Tape, Starbucks Table, Venti Latte, Power Supply and Free WiFi.

MAD's Olympic Show Appearance...

To be a MAD-C.E.O., world traveler and MAD'individual made me qualify to have my own personal Olympic Closing Ceremony. So I did hit the stage and got interviewed by the local Olympic committee about the Madarozzo-Brand and we performed a song together. I have to say that my personal OCC (Olympic Closing Ceremony) was under-attended and the audience was very confused. Before they figured out that there were no free drinks offered from this MAD'man I already had left the building. London 2012 is approaching fast and I need to start planning my opening ceremony.

MAD thoughts about memberships...

Recently my company joined the NAMM in the USA. Super helpful people, responsive and friendly. Within a few days after receipt of my initial e-mail my membership was sorted out. I am very proud to be a member, because I know the NAMM guys do a lot for the music industry and their members.

Around the same time I have emailed NAMM I have e-mailed the UK trade organization as well, who has not yet bothered to answer my e-mail about a membership application. Now I start to have second thoughts if I should spend the money planned for the UK Membership fees and join another organization - the Gourmet Burger Union. I can join hassle free and the benefits are obvious 'Build your own Burger'. Since I decided to build my own brand Madarozzo I think the GBU (Gourmet Burger Union) is an attractive, alternative option to the UK trade organization. I could build my own brand of gig bags and at the same time build my own burger.

My MAD-Weekend, Brand of the day...

After a few weeks of hard work I decided to have a break this weekend. My day started with a nice cold shower in my -5Star Hotel. For those who don't know yet, I exclusively use genuine Head & Shoulders to wash my hair - since more than 25 years. I think Procter & Gamble should sign me up as an endorser and supply free Head & Shoulders in a Louis Vuitton flask to any location I travel:)

Sorry I am getting carried away - anyway wherever I go I make sure Head & Shoulders is available locally or I take one with me on the trip. After the shower I was shocked that my beloved Head & Shoulders approached reserve level and I swung myself in the subway to find a toiletry shop selling the desired brand. Here I found Head & Shoulders and next to it in the same shelf 'Health S(calp) Shadow'. I sometimes wonder what they will call MADAROZZO one day?

Todays MAD-Award for the best brand name goes to Health & Shadow hihi....:) Maybe soon there is a new edition Hell & Shadow?

Notes From the Mad-Man...Hong Kong

My friends and clients will know that in my quest to bring the world of musicians better gig bags I have found myself in some difficult situations.

Recently in Hong Kong for instance I checked in to a budget Hotel which I booked online to keep the cost low. After checking in I found myself in a Deluxe Room (pictures are classified) with a Deluxe View. But it had Free WiFi so my fans could stay in touch with me:)

After 2 weeks in this fabulous -5 Star Accommodation I decided to start the blog - time to share some of my MAD-Days.
